  2. Implement an effective procedure to treat a pump failure procedure: identify the failure, understand its origin, remedy the cause, follow the repair of equipment<\/li>
  3. Communicate and report clearly and effectively about failures

    Introduction to fluid mechanics<\/span>
    <\/strong><\/span><\/em>Theoretical basis of physical and hydraulic
    The quantities and units (flow, pressure, viscosity)
    Link flow \/ pressure, head loss notions<\/p>

    Cavitation : understand, prevent<\/em><\/span>
    <\/span><\/em><\/strong>Suction, priming? make the difference
    The concept of vapor pressure, the concept of NPSH
    Cavitation<\/p>

    Inspection, repair, maintenance of pumps<\/em><\/span>
    <\/span><\/em><\/strong>Controls : set of wear rings, the roundness and the state of the shaft
    Analysis of the pumps characteristics used by participants (volumetric and centrifugal)
    Basic rules to lubricate a pump (oil or grease).<\/p>

    Mechanical seals and glands
    <\/em><\/span>Glands, mechanical seals
    Magnetic drive
    Hydrodynamic seal, principles and terminology
    Installation procedure<\/p>
